Design flooring
The so-called vinyl floors are high-quality, heterogeneous plastic floorings. Heterogeneous means that the vinyl floors do not consist entirely of one material, but have a multi-layer structure. The basis for most vinyl floors is a plastic backing layer. As a stabilising and impact sound layer, this is followed by a carrier layer, on which in turn the print layer, i.e. the actual decor, rests. At the very top of the vinyl floor is the transparent wear layer, which today is usually made of polyurethane (PU). This extremely hard plastic protects the vinyl floor and makes it resistant to everyday environmental influences. The thickness of the wear layer is also usually used to classify vinyl floors.
